I started with Habitat in December of 2006 as the Volunteer/Grants Coordinator and ReStore Manager. I started with Habitat as a transition career, and prayers led me to stay here. Prior to Habitat, I was the Executive Director of the sexual violence program here in Willmar. I attended Willmar Community College and Saint Cloud State University. My undergraduate degree is in psychology, communication, and sociology. I have a special studies graduate degree focusing on family and children advocacy. After living in various areas throughout the United States, I moved to the Willmar area in 1982. I have four children, one deceased. I also have nine grandchildren. I love my position as Executive Director of Habitat, because the families we serve inspire me.

I am married with seven children and four grandchildren in a blended family. I grew up in a Chicago suburb, Streamwood, IL. I graduated with a B.S. in Pyschology from the University of Minnesota. I have lived in this community for 10 years. I look forward to meeting with the many dedicated partners of Habitat for Humanity of West Cemtral MInnesota as well as spread the mission of this great organization throughout our five county region.
I am a 2008 graduate of Ridgewater College with an Associate of Arts Degree and a 2010 graduate of St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. From February 2011 until October 2012 I worked at Minnesota School of Business as an Admissions Representative. In 2012 I had the opportunity to use my passion of public service by running as a candidate for the Minnesota House here in Kandiyohi County. January 1st, 2013 I had the opportunity to start working as the Volunteer and Family Services Coordinator. It is a very rewarding position and allows me to see so much good that is taking place throughout our community.
I started working with Habitat for Humanity as a volunteer in the ReStore in October of 2012. I was offered the position of Interim Manager while I was volunteering. The position became permanent November 11, 2012. I enjoy the fun and excitment generated by the volunteers and customers at the store. I have an Associate of Science in Business and an Associate of Arts in Behavioral Science from Citrus College in Glendora, California. I also have an Agribusiness Degree from AVTI in Willmar, MN. I completed an internship in Ethhipia through World Vision International in Agribusiness. The last five years I have worked in retail in Rochester, MN. Prior to working in Rochester, I was a Manager at retail business in Azusa, CA.
Hello! My name is Jessica Bruck and I am an AmeriCorps VISTA member serving with Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota. I am originally from a small town in eastern Iowa called Zwingle. This past May I graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. While as ISU I served on the Campus Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Throughout this year of service, I will strive to enhance and broaden the scope of the ABWK program.
Since this program is relatively new, I will research the effectiveness of other Habitat affiliate's practices for the ABWK program. It is important that this program flourishes so that more families in need of home repairs can be reached and also to grow the opportunities for our volunteers to get involved.
I am originally from the Twin Cities, Minnesota, but I have lived in West Central Minnesota for the last five years and I am a graduate of the University of Minnesota Morris with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and an emphasis in Biology. In 2011, I served as a volunteer in the AmeriCorps Students in Service program with the Stevens County Housing and Redevelopment Authority. As a current AmeriCorps VISTA, I serve Habitat for Humanity as the ReStore Assistant in Willmar. My goal is to build up sales in this affiliate’s ReStore to ensure that profits from the ReStore can be put towards additional funding for the continued success of the program.
